About us

The Society for Open Information Technologies (Spoločnosť pre otvorené informačné technológie in Slovak) is a non-for-profit civic association of people who advocate the use of open information technologies in diverse areas of our society, with main focus to Slovakia. Many of us have been active in this area for several years, both individually and in small groups. We came to the conclusion that together we can be more effective in achieving our goals.
SOIT not only brings together specialists in the IT industry, but also standard users or potential users of open software and content. We are open to cooperation with individuals and organisations that share the same goals.
